Have you browsed other real estate websites? Most make claims about how many awards and achievements they've received or how they rank relative to peers. Even how great they are at their niche market. What they don't tell you is who they are. What are they about? Are you going to enjoy spending time with them? Are they going to be rushing you to buy to shore up their statistics? I'd like to tell you something about me and my approach to real estate.
Like most of us, I'm a husband, father, friend, and mentor. For real estate one of my most important qualities is that I'm a Calgarian. I've lived here since 1982, experiencing both boom and bust cycles. I've lived in all four quadrants of this fast growing city, I've floated our rivers, cycled our pathways, skated the rinks, and ran through our parks. And let's not forget Stampede. I know Calgary.
I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. I jumped right into the Oil & Gas Industry as a mineral landman (business negotiator for an exploration company). The oil patch has been great to me both personally and professionally. Personally, I've gained life-long friends (who are now my clients), and met my beautiful wife. Professionally, I owe my real estate successes to my previous career; I left the oil patch with a great understanding of Calgary, of business, and of team work and cooperation. I also understand how to identify and quantify opportunities and risks. I have a great negotiating mind set. I utilize these skills everyday for the benefit of my buyers and sellers.
So, why after fourteen successful years in oil and gas, would I leave to enter real estate? In 2007, my world changed. Our first child was born and the world was entering a major recession, I was downsized. After weeks of debate, my wife and I decided that my skill sets would be a great benefit to many friends that need to sell or buy a home. So, I jumped in, I got licenced and became a full time Realtor… I've never looked back. Real Estate makes the most of my skill set and personality and gives me the flexibility to enjoy time with my family (now expanded to three kids).
Since I have become a Realtor (2008), I have sold over 140 homes and over $88,000,000 worth of real estate, all in a down market. I've got awards and achievements to show for it. But what I want you to know about me is that I'd like to get to know you.
